Within an hour’s reach of Paris, Provins is one of the best preserved medieval cities in France. In the XIIth and XIIIth centuries, the fairs of Provins became the most important in Europe. The city’s prosperity declined in a few decades at the beginning of the XIVth century. But this fall from grace enabled Provins to become an extremely well preserved town of the Middle Ages : 58 listed monuments, more than 150 arched vaults and nearly 10 km of tunnels. Nearly all built in the XIIth and XIIIth centuries, this unique historical heritage takes you back for a true journey through the Middle Ages.
